Yesterday marked the 3 week date of my diet. I'm down 3 more lbs, which is 8 total from my start date of January 4th. I have been sick with a horrible sore throat and cold & didn't go online yesterday to type my weekly Tuesday blog. But today is Wednesday & here I am...still not feeling to hot though. Feeling like this, along with the cold & cloudy weather really gives me a case of the Winter Blues:(
Well enough of the negative stuff & I need to go work on making myself a positive, healthy & happy person. I have been applying for like jobs for crazy & still haven't gotten as much as an email, phone call or letter from anyone. Makes me feel even more like a reject. Is it something on my resume, is it because I have been out of work so long (it's not my fault I was LAID OFF from the best job I ever had), do they call my references & then they speak poorly about me? I just don't know what or how to feel about this .

2nd week update...
Well, week 2 is down with the diet. I did OK according to the scale...but not great. Down one more pound, that makes a total of 5 lbs in 2 weeks. It is getting easier & I feel like I'm getting used eating healthy foods instead of junky choices.
January is moving along just fine. Alyssa started her second semester of 6th grade today...I can't believe the school year is already half over! The Bears had a big win in their playoff game last Sunday & will be hosting The Packers this Sunday for the Championship Game~GO BEARS!!! I booked our Disneyworld trip this morning, we are going in May & very excited:)
Looking ahead now to plan things for the rest of the month. I need to work out more to be in the best shape I can be by May for our vacation. I would like to find some friends in the area to maybe get a Bunco group started. I want to start going through old pictures and organizing them. I should also find the boxes with framed pictures & start hanging some of them on the walls.
On another note...money is always good, so a Part Time job would be nice to have some spending cash. I have once again applied at numerous places, so hopefully something comes through. I have also been trying to think of something new to do on eBay or find some kind of work from home gig since it seems you have to know someone to find any job.

Week 1 down...
Well, my first full week on my diet is complete! As I said, I want to keep a diary of my weight loss here on my blog. Tuesday is here & it is WEIGH DAY!!! The results are in AND...I am happy to say I am down 4 pounds:) My long term goal is to lose 50 lbs...my short term goal is to be down 20 by my Birthday on Feb. 15th. If I can lose 4 lbs every week, I will make it! The beginning of this last week was kind of hard, but I think I am into the swing of things now. I have been trying to avoid most processed foods & have been eating a lot of fresh fruit & veggies. Exercise is what I need to really get into gear with this week & from here on out! I did some working out last week...but definitely need to kick it up a notch:)

My first blog EVER!
I have never been one to consistantly keep a diary or a journal...but I wanted to give a weblog a try:) Wish me luck! I think it will be a good way to start off the New Year. I'm hoping for a NEW me in this NEW year! Ready or not 2011...here I come!
2010 was a year in my life that was full of many ups and downs. We made a decision as a family, to have a fresh start & re-locate to Indiana. Some may think we were crazy for leaving the only place we've ever know...but I think it was a brave & smart thing to do. The cost of living in IL was getting out of hand, but the main reason we left is our daughter's education. The school district we are in now is 1 of the top rated in the state. I was also pleasantly surprised to find out the mascot for Alyssa's school district is a bulldog with red colors...same as mine was & same as MY Mom's was, pretty cool, huh?! The only complaint I have is the 8 mile drive to the school...we were spoiled before with school being only a minute away! Our new house is newer & I love it! I think this is a beautiful area and I am happy we made the choice we did. Also, we are SOOO lucky we sold our home in such a short amount of time (for just a little under asking price) in this terrible economy. I thank God for that & see it as a sign that moving was the right thing to do. It's also pretty neat that our street is St. Joseph...like the statue I buried to sell our old house!
Now to get on with my New Year's resolution...eat healthy (the whole family), exercise & lose weight! I started on my weight loss journey today & coincidentally The Biggest Loser starts tonight too! I won't post my starting weight...but every Tuesday I will post my weight loss for the week~wish me luck!!!
